    A GROUP OF ABOUT 30 KENYAN STUDENTS HAS RETURNED TO NAIROBI FROM BAKU, IN THE SOVIET UNION, WHERE THEY HAD STAGED A SIT-DOWN STRIKE CLAIMING THEY HAD BEEN VICTIMS OF "RACIAL DISCRIMINATION" AND "COMMUNIST BRAIN-WASHING". THE KENYANS HAD BEEN STUDENTS AT THE BAKU UNIVERSITY.

    THE STUDENTS, WHO HAVE BEEN QUESTIONED BY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, ARE RETURNING TO THEIR HOMES SCATTERED AROUND KENYA TO AWAIT A DECISION ON THEIR FUTURE. INCLUDING TWO WOMEN, THE STUDENTS COMPLAINED OF SPENDING "SIX MONTHS OF MISERY" IN BAKU.

    THE STUDENTS STAGED THEIR SIT-DOWN STRIKE AT A RAILWAY STATION AT BAKU, WHICH IS IN THE CAUCASUS. THEY SAID THEY SPENT EIGHT DAYS ON HARD FLOORS, IN SUB-ZERO TEMPERATURES AND WITHOUT FOOD OR BLANKETS IN AN ATTEMPT TO ESCAPE WHAT THEY CALLED THE BAKU "INDOCTRINATION CAMP".

    THE STUDENTS SPOKE OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST AFRICANS IN BAKU RESTAURANTS AND AT DANCES, AND OF BEING WAYLAID AND ATTACKED BY RUSSIANS. THE STUDENTS ARE REPORTED IN NAIROBI AS SAYING THAT MOST OF THEIR STUDIES WERE TAKEN UP WITH TAUGHT COMMUNIST DOCTRINE.
