INTRODUCTION: The Algerian football club NAHD won its way through to the national clubs finals on Friday (15 April) with an easy three-one victory over rivals ESS in the semi finals. NAHD took the offensive for most of the game, only relaxing sufficiently towards the end to allow ESS their one goal.
SYNOPSIS: ESS, playing in the plain black and white, took one early offensive against NAHD. A shot at goal by number nine Briche, was easily collected by NAHD goalkeeper Ouchen.
NAHD recovered quickly with a goal by Guennoun at number ten to put them one-up.
The next NAHD attack wasn't so successful, but they were at least keeping up the pressure against a new-floundering ESS.
NAHD'S Farabi, at number four, was brought down in a successful ESS attempt to gain control of the ball, but the counter-attack petered out well before any goal-scoring chances come up.
The next ESS offensive did at least get near the NAHD goalmouth -- but it was still an easy save for Ouchen.
NAHD retaliated by promptly switching back to the offensive. Ighil at number three made no mistake to put the score at NAHD two, ESS nil.
In the second half, ESS number seven, Fellahi, was robbed of the ball in a move which gave NAHD's number six, Khedis, a chance at goal that he didn't miss. NAHD three, ESS nil.
NAHD could afford to relax a little towards the end with their almost unassailable lead, and their attacking became a little less spirited.
The only consolation for the well-defeated ESS was a quick goal snatched by their number seven, Salhi. But it was too late for any real purpose. The final score -- NAHD three, ESS one.
