  • Description

WHEN HE LIVED, JAMES MICHAEL CURLEY LED MANY TRIUMPHANT ELECTION PARADES THROUGH THE STREETS OF HIS NATIVE BOSTON.

LAST SATURDAY, POLICE LINED UP OUTSIDE THIS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH TO PAY THEIR LAST RESPECTS AND TO GUARD CURLEY ON HIS LAST PROCESSION THROUGH THE CITY HE LOVED.

EVERYONE WHO IS ANYONE IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN MASSACHUSETTS WAS ON HAND FOR THE FUNERAL RITES OF BOSS CURLEY, WHO DIED LAST WEEK AT THE AGE OF 83. MASSACHUSETTS' GOVERNOR POSTER FURCULO (CQ) WAS ON HAND. SO WAS MAYOR HYNES (CQ) OF BOSTON.

SO WERE THE COMMON PEOPLE. THEY WAITED OUTSIDE THE CHURCH AND ALONG THE FUNERAL ROUTE AND AT THE CEMETERY. WAITED AS THEY HAD OFTEN WAITED IN FRONT OF HIS HOUSE WHEN THEY SOUGHT HIS HELP WITH PERSONAL PROBLEMS.

WHATEVER IT WAS, THEY HAD FAITH THAT THE BOSS WOULD FIX IT.

BUT NOW THE BOSS IS GONE. CURLEY OF BOSTON IS GONE.
