    THE ASSEMBLY PLANT WAS OPENED BY THE GOVERNOR OF ORIENTAL PROVINCE, M. EDOUARD BULUNDWE. HE WAS ACCOMPANIED BY M. FREDERIC TUMBA AND M. NICOLAS AGATHOS, CHIEF ADMINISTRATORS OF THE CONGOLESE TRUST COMPANY WHICH ASSEMBLES TOYOTA VEHICLES.

    THE KISANGANI PLANT CAME INTO OPERATION WITH TWENTY SKILLED CONGOLESE WORKING THE PRODUCTION LINE. THE PLANT IS EXPECTED TO REACH A CAPACITY OF 250 VEHICLES -- CARS AND LORRIES -- A YEAR.

    THE CONGOLESE TRUST COMPANY ALSO RUNS A SALES AND SPARE PARTS SERVICE FOR TOYOTA AS WELL AS ACTING AS AGENT FOR THIRTY INTERNATIONALLY-KNOWN FIRMS.

    THE INSTALLATION OF THE PLANT IN KISANGANI IS AN IMPORTANT RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT MOBUTU'S APPEAL IN KISANGANI IN MAY FOR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN THE RE-BUILDING OF ORIENTAL PROVINCE.
