  • Description

Accompanied by his small daughter Caroline, American President-elect John Kennedy walked from his Washington home November 27 to attend divine service at nearby Holy Trinity church. It was Caroline's third birthday.

Another reason for giving thanks was the birth of a son - 6 pounds three ounces - to his wife Jacqueline at Georgetown University Hospital early November 25. This is the first time that a child has been born to an American President-elect's wife.

Caroline will not see her mother for two more weeks. Doctors at the hospital say baby and mother are doing fine. Mrs. Kennedy is making a good recovery from the premature birth, and John Fitzgerald junior has had his first taste of powdered milk formula.
