    DELEGATES FROM 11 AFRICAN STATES ARE MEETING IN YAOUNDE TO EXCHANGE INFORMATION ON THEIR COUNTRIES' SCIENTIFIC POLICIES AND RESEARCH PROGRAMMES. THE SEMINAR, ORGANISED BY THE UNITED NATIONS EDUCATIONAL, SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL ORGANISATION (UNESCO) ENDS ON JULY 21.

    MR. JOHN NGU FONCHA, THE CAMEROUN'S VICE-PRESIDENT, IS PRESIDING OVER THE SEMINAR WHICH IS ATTENDED BY REPRESENTATIVES FROM MADAGASCAR, MALAWI, ZAMBIA, NIGERIA, TOGO, IVORY COAST, DAHOMEY, MALI, GHANA, ETHIOPIA AND CAMEROUN. MORE DELEGATES FROM OTHER PARTS OF AFRICA WERE ALSO EXPECTED.

    THE AIM OF THE MEETING IS TO PROVIDE A FORUM BOTH FOR EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION AND A DETAILED STUDY OF PROBLEMS LINKED WITH RESEARCH BODIES THROUGHOUT AFRICA.
