    The Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers in Europe-a division of the North Atlantic Organization-observed the tenth anniversary of its founding in Paris, France, April 6.

    The proceedings began with a symbolic flag-raising ceremony; there are 15 NATO countries. The band of the Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry (from Britain) played military tunes-one number appropriately called "Attention".

    The Supreme Commander, General Lauris Norstad, said during his address:
    Another speaker.... Vice-President Lyndon Johnson of the United States. He said:
    It was in 1950 that the North Atlantic Council approved the establishment of an integrated force for the defence of western Europe a Supreme Headquarters. General Eisenhower was the first Supreme Commander--succeeded by General Ridgway, Gruenther and Norstad. General Norstad, an American, has held the office since 1956.
