    WEAPONS ON SHOW INCLUDED TWO ITEMS FROM THE UNITED STATES - "HONEST JOHN", FIRED FROM A MOBILE LAUNCHING RAMP, IS A SOLID-FUEL BALLISTIC MISSILE WITH A RANGE OF ABOUT 15 MILES. IT CAN BE ARMED WITH THE EITHER CONVENTIONAL OR NUCLEAR WARHEADS.

    MOUNTED ON A HEAVY TRACKED BASE, THE 155MM HOWITZER FIRES STEEL SHELLS, WEIGHING 95LBS AND CONTAINING ABOUT 15LBS OF TNT, OVER DISTANCES OF NEARBY 10 MILES.

    THE FIRE-POWER DEMONSTRATIONS, ASSISTED BY FIELD RADAR, BEFA BEGAN WITH TANKS FIRING SMALL "SS-II" ROCKETS, MOUNTED IN PAIRS BESIDE THE TANK-GUN BARREL. AFTER MORE RANGE FIRING BY TANKS, A HIGHLY MOBILE UNIT WAS PUT THROUGH ITS PACES. IT CONSISTED OF JEEPS, EACH CARRYING A BAZOOKA-TYPE WEAPON. THEY DROVE UP AT HIGH SPEED, WERE DEPLOYED AND READY TO FIRE IN AN INSTANT, AND MOVE ON AS QUICKLY AS THEY HAD COME.
