Background: Ghana's western regional chief executive, Mr. A.E. Chinbuah, has urged the Standard Bank of West Africa to give financial assistance to Ghanaisation businessmen. This was in accordance with the Ghanaisation of the retail trade for which local capital injection is vital.
Mr. Chinbuah was opening the new building of the Standard Bank of West Africa in Sekondi. Among the local leaders at the opening were Mr. R.S. Blay and the Western Regional administrative Officer, Mr. Ampofo.
Mr. Chinbuah said the Standard Bank's continued expansion of its business in the country is a clean indication of its confidence in the government.
Mr. H. J. Maltus, the assistant executive director of the bank in Ghana, said his bank had provided the people of Sekondi with banking services for nearly 70 years.
