  • Description

On the 10th October the Soviet capital Moscow gave a warm welcome to guests from Poland.

A Polish party and government delegation arrived in the Soviet Union for an official visit. It was led by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers party Vladislav Gomulka and the Prime minister Yuzef Tzirankevich.

Mr. Gomulka and Mr. Tzirankevich have been to the Soviet Union many times, and they have invariably been received by the Soviet people as the dearest and most welcome guests.

Gomulka, Tzirankevich, Brezhnev and Kosygin inspected the guard of honour. The Polish leaders were introduced to Soviet statesmen foreign diplomats.

The people of Moscow gave a rousing welcome to the Polish and Soviet leaders. There were cheers in honour of Soviet-Polish friendship.

The guard of honour marches past the stand.

On behalf of the Central Committee of the Soviet Communist party and the Soviet government Mr. Brezhnev greeted the Polish visitors and wished them a pleasant and useful stay in the Soviet Union.

Then Mr. Gomulka replied. We are deeply convinced, he said that the present meeting and our talks with communist party and government leaders will promote wider and better all-round cooperation between us.

Mr. Gomulka particularly stressed that friendship and cooperation between the Soviet Union and Poland was an important link in the unity of the entire socialist community.
