Tunisia's Prime Minister, M. Nouira has opened the country's 15th International trade fair in Tunis. The fair is held every two years and this year the emphasis was on agriculture.
The Fair is an important showplace and there were exhibitions from 22 countries. Four countries were taking part for the first time. They are Canada, Egypt, Hungary and the Netherlands.
European countries taking part are: West Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, France, Hungary, Italy, The Netherlands, Rumania, Spain, The Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia. Africa is represented by Algeria, The Ivory Coast, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. Also exhibiting are the United States, Canada and South Vietnam.
The fair covers some 10 hectares (about 25 acres). The main themes illustrated are those corresponding to the chief needs and priorities of the Tunisian economy - the mechanisation and modernisation of agriculture and technical and professional training.
The fair continues until June the 6th.
