This piece shot to illustrate that Cholon in no need of PRG guards and police suggesting that the area was indeed a VC area well before the PRG entered Saigon. There was no battle here although most of the tanks came through here to enter Saigon's Presidential Palace

Background: Cholon, the sister city of Saigon and traditionally a Viet-Cong area, was in no need of VC security forces the day after the takeover. Flags were evident everywhere, and the flag makers and sellers were doing a brisk trade in the market area. The prices of food had not risen following the takeover, and business was normal everywhere. This was contrary to Saigon itself, where shops and businesses were closed while people awaited instructions and/or information about their future. In Cholon, the people were already sure that they would continue business ???.
