    Ambassadors from five countries -- Somali, India Guyana, Australia and Cambodia -- presented their credentials to President Nixon at a ceremony at the White House in Washington on Thursday (11 June).

    The Cambodian representative, M. Sonn Voeunsia, was the first ambassador from his country to be received in the United States since 1964.

    M. Voeunsia said at the ceremony that Cambodia will need the continued friendship of the United States to maintain its territorial integrity, neutrality and independence.

    The other ambassadors at the ceremony were; Lakshmi Kant Jba from India; Mr. Rahaman Baccus Gajraj of Guyana; the Australian Ambassador, Sir James Plimsell; and Dr Ahmed Addou from Somali.
