    The 18th Conference of the Organisation of Coordination and Cooperation for the Fight Against Endemic Diseases (OCCGE) was opened in Nouakchott last week. The ministerial conference was opened by the Mauritanian Health Minister, Dr. Abdallahi Ould Bah. He emphasised the fight against Cholera as one of the major concerns of the organisation.

    Delegations from Dahomey, France, the Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo, Upper Volta, and Mauritania attended the conference.

    SYNOPSIS: The eighteenth Conference of the Organisation of Coordination and Cooperation for the Fight Against Endemic Diseases, C-C-C-G-E, opened in Nouakshott last week.

    The ministerial conference had been organised by the Technical Commission of the O-C-C-G-E. Mauritanian Health Minister, Dr. Abdallahi Ould Bah opened the conference. Ministers of Health of the member countries attending the conference had an opportunity to exchange ideas on mutual problems and received the advice of experts. The Health Minister from Mauritania emphasised the fight against Cholera as one os the major concerns of the organisation.

    Dahomey Health Minister and outgoing President of the Organisation, Albert Ouassa, reviewed the achievements of the O-C-C-G-E during the past year. He called on delegates not to sacrifice Africa's needs for budgetary reasons. Member nations attending the conference included Dahomey, the Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo, Upper Volta, France, and Mauritania.
