HE STARTED WITH ONE TRACK AND THREE CARS FROM HIS SON'S MODEL TRAIN SET AND HAS EXPANDED TO SEVEN TRACKS AND SEVEN ENGINES.
MODEL TRAIN SYSTEMS AS COMPLEX AS THIS ONE OFTEN REQUIRE THE EXPERTISE OF ARCHITECTS, CARPENTERS AND ELECTRICIANS...BUT THE RETIRED BANK CLERK HAS BEEN THE ONLY ENGINEER FOR THIS RAILROAD.

Background: The golden age of railroading in the united states is over. But love of trains lives on among model railroaders. One such is a retired bank clerk in Kansas City, who has built an ambitious layout in his home, with seven different tracks, seven engines, block signals, lay-up yards, small towns, tunnels, bridges, overpasses. The trains and tracks are one-eighty-seventh of normal size. The trains, in comparison to the big ones, reach a related speed of up to 100 miles an hour. Some of the curves seem perilous, but the trains swing around them with ease.
