TRANSCRIPT SEQ 2: TOURE: "You will certainly remember that on the night of the 21st to 22nd of November, 1970, with considerable material resources, the fascist Portuguese government, supported by mercenaries recruited in Africa in certain countries, launched an attack on the Republic of Guinea. It was a surprise attack, taking advantage of condition of fog, rain and the period of the Careme Fast."

SEQ 3: REPORTER: (in English). "How does it come about that the preponderance of the fifth column in your country was German? Is there any connection between this German community and German itself - and the German Government? and, if not, how did they become an organised community to constitute themselves a fifth column to the extent of 100 (members)?".

SEQ 4: TOURE: "We have had a co-operation and assistance programme with the Germans. We consider that this co-operation should result in respect for sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of each (country). The fifth column found in Guinea had close ties it certain West German elements who came into Guinea with aid programmes. We shall never make any confusion between a whole people and certain elements in the country, who for some motives foreign to the noble cause of disinterested co-operation, cast discredit on, and launched harmful operations against, our friendship and co-operation."
