    When the news of the death of Nationalist Chinese president Chiang Kai-Shek reached the capital of South Korea, many Korean citizen visited embassy of National China. President Park Chung-Hee issued a special statement and Park said he was deeply saddened to hear the news of president Chiangs death. "The Korean people will forever remember his enduring achievement, and those achievements will shine in the annals of mankind," Park said.

    The Korean chief executive noted that the late chiang had supported Korea's independence from the Japanese colonial rule during world two and contributed a great deal to laying the foundation for world peace in the post world war era.

    "I and the Korean people, together with the peoples of the other parts of the world, who admire the late Chiangs achievements, would like to pay our tributes to his unflinching friendship and patience demonstrated in adverse situations." Park said. Part at the same time sent messages of condolences to Chiangs wife, Madam Song and his son, expressing his sorrow over the death of the great leader.

    In the meantime, the Korean government was reported planning to send a high-level condolence missing to the funeral of the late Chiang.

    Government sources said in consideration of the friendly relations between south Korea and nationalist China, the Government was considering sending a cabinet-level condolence missing to Taiwan to represent Korea at the funeral of the late chinese president.
