    CHARLES WILSON, SENTENCED TO THIRTY YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR HIS PART IN GBP2-MILLION STERLING TRAIN ROBBERY IN BRITAIN IN 1963, WAS FLOWN BACK TO BRITAIN TODAY (SUNDAY) ESCORTED BY A SENIOR DETECTIVE OF SCOTLAND YARD.

    WILSON ESCAPED FROM PRISON IN 1964, AFTER SERVING ONLY FOUR MONTHS OF HIS SENTENCE. HE WAS TRACED LAST WEEK TO THE SMALL CANADIAN TOWN OF RIGAUD NEAR THE UNITED STATES AFTER THREE YEARS OF LIBERTY.

    THERE WAS STRINGENT POLICE SECURITY MEASURES AT LONDON AIRPORT TO DEAL WITH WILSON'S ARRIVAL. POLICE WITH DOGS FORMED A CORDON, AND BARRICADES WERE ERECTED TO KEEP PEOPLE BACK. WILSON'S HEAD WAS COVERED WITH A COAT AS HE WAS LED, HANDCUFFED, DOWN THE AIRCRAFT STEPS TO AWAITING POLICE CAR.

    ANOTHER CAR, FILLED WITH DETECTIVE, AND A NUMBER OF POLICE MOTORCYCLES ESCORTED CAR CARRYING WILSON AS IT SPED FROM THE AIRPORT. WILSON'S DESTINATION HAS NOT BEEN DISCLOSED.

    DURING HIS FLIGHT FROM CANADA, WILSON DID NOT WEAR HANDCUFFS, AND CHATTED AMIABLY WITH HIS POLICE ESCORT AND OTHER PASSENGERS.
