    More than ten thousand Israelis took part in two demonstrations on Thursday (28 August)- one in favour of the peace agreement being worked out by American Secretary of State D. Henry Kissinger, one against.)
    Religious and right-wing youth movements opposed to the Israeli withdrawals involved if the present peace agreement comes into being, held their biggest demonstration yet in Jerusalem.

    In Tel Aviv about 10,000 members of the Labour Party's Mapam faction- also mostly teenagers-held a counter rally in the entre of the city carrying placards saying "Give peace a chance".

    Meanwhile D. kissinger and his negotiators spent nearly six hours with the Israeli Ministerial team trying to finalise the agreement. They were believed to be discussing the exact details of the staffing of the Israeli and Egyptian early warning systems and the type of armaments allowed in the zones immediately behind the united Nations buffer zone.

    D. Kissinger left for Alexandria later in the day to put the latest Israeli positions to Egyptian President Anwar Sadat.
