President/Ahmed Hassan Al-Bakr/has received in audience at the Presidential Palace today (23/2) Patriarch/Denkha/ he Fourth, Great Patriarch of the Eastern Orthodox church in the world, on his visit to Iraq.

In receiving the Patriarch, President/Al Bakr/stressed that our nation reaffirmed its genuineness and vitality when it placed - humanity at the path of righteousness and peace, and made its land from the oldest of ages, a land for love, brotherhood religious and thoughts, in a most magnificent way.

President/All Bakr/also said that among the greatest of our achievements is the true brotherhood and profound compassion felt by the various nationalities of the Iraqi people towards each other, under the shadow of the July 17th Revolution. Patriach/Denkha/expressed Pleasure for meeting the president and reiterated his great thanks for the political leadership patronage of all religious sects and nationalities.

The audience was attended by the head of the administrative committee of the Assyrian sect in Iraq.
