    The Ugandan High Commissioner, Colonel Tlukamwa, was summoned to Foreign Office in London on Thursday (7 September) to receive a strong protest at allegations by President Amin that Britain was planning assassination.

    Sir Dennis Greenhill, head of the Diplomatic service, told Colonel Tlukemwa he was astonished at the President's accusations and describe them as "absolute nonsense."
    He pointed out that it was an extremely grave charge for one coun??? to level against another, and wondered where such information could he come from.

    As he left the Foreign Office, the High Commissioner was asked about President Amin's statement:
    Over 200 porters from London's Smithfield meat market took part in their second protest march on Thursday, also, against the admission in Britain of the Asians expelled from Uganda by President Amin.
