    THE THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT CALLED FOR TWO-WAY TRADE TOTALLING 670-700 MILLION DOLLARS.THIS IS ABOUT FIFTY-PER-CENT MORE THAN THE FIGURE SET IN THE TRADE AGREEMENT WHICH EXPIRED THIS YEAR.

    MR OHIRA, JAPANESE FOREIGN MINISTER, AND MR NIKOLAI PATOLICHEV, THE SOVIET TRADE MINISTER, SIGNED THE DOCUMENTS AT THE JAPANESE FOREIGN MINISTRY.

    JAPAN IS TO BUY RUSSIAN OIL, TIMBER, COAL, IRON ORE, AND OTHER GOODS.IN RETURN RUSSIA WILL TAKE SHIPS, INCLUDING 13 TANKERS, FACTORY PLANT, CRANES, AND TEXTILE MACHINERY.
