They should also be able to take out of the country' a reasonable amount of assets' in order to set up a new life elsewhere, he said.

    The problems facing the expelled Asians were essentially humanitarian in character, went on Mr. Singh, and could only be resolved in a spirit of compassion and understanding.

    Talking then about the Middle East crisis, Mr. Singh accused Israel of obstructing all attempts at fining a peaceful settlement.
