Background: Dr.Lang of Basle Zoo, Switzerland, has an unusual foster child. He's trying his hand at rearing a female gorilla, Goma.
At five months the little creature is still in the cuddlesome stage - as far as a gorilla can be. Dr.Lang spoon-feeds her, and she sleeps in a baby's play-pen. And if she doesn't fell like sleeping there are coloured wooden balls to push around.
One way and another, with her playful disposition and quaint looks Goma is quite a pet. It's hard to believe that in a few years time she'll tip the scales at around 500lbs. and will be able to tear a man in half, if she's so inclined.
