While the heavy snowfall on December 19 and 20 in Peking kept most people indoors, the drop in temperature did not effect those whose favourite recreation is out-door swimming--even in winters! The film shows a group of 30 enthusiasts having a field day in the snow-banked pool in western Peking.
The temperature was about 7 degrees below zero C.
They stayed in the water for about half an hour.
The snow bath is a good way to warm up the body before the plunge.
Chuang Yen-lin, a leading member of the China International Travel Service, at 57, has taken to winter swimming for 17 years.
Lin Pao-lo from the Peking Municipal Health Bureau is 79 years old.
We all agree that swimming is fun, but would you wan to try it in this snow?
