Background: The Untied Nations Secretary-General's assistant for political affairs, Mr. Roberto Guyer, arrived in Amman on Thursday (26 February) for talks with Jordanian leaders.
Representing Dr. Kurt Waldheim, Mr. Guyer arrived from Israel to continue discussions on Palestinian representation at the Geneva Conference on the Middle East.
Mr. Guyer is on a tour of several Arab countries to discuss the participation of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) at the conference.
Mr. Guyer met Jordanian Prime Minister Zeid Al-Rifai and was also scheduled to be received by King Hussein.
