TRANSCRIPT: SEQ. 6: Q:- "DO YOU FEEL THAT YOU'RE FIT ENOUGH TO COME BACK INTO FIRST-CLASS CRICKET?"

A:- "WELL, I'VE GOT TO DO A LOT OF HARD WORK. I'M VERY CONSCIOUS OF THIS, AND I THINK THE PART OF CRICKET THAT PERHAPS WORRIES ME, - AT FIRST, - MOST IS FIELDING, FUNNILY ENOUGH. I THINK I USUALLY FIELD CLOSE TO THE WICKETS, AND YOU NEED A VERY QUICK KIND OF FITNESS, A QUICK REACTION TO MOVE TO THE BALL, AND I SHALL TRY AND PLAY JUST A LITTLE CLUB CRICKET AND GET SOME HARD NET PRACTICE, FIELDING PRACTICE, IN BEFORE."

Q:- "HAVE YOU MANAGED TO GET MUCH PRACTICE IN YET?"

A:- "NO, VERY LITTLE. i'VE HAD TWO DAYS DOWN AT HOVE. WE HAD A LITTLE BREAK JUST AFTER EASTER, BUT THAT'S ALL. AND I'M RATHER MAN BY NATURE, BUT I'VE GOT TO DRIVE MYSELF TO DO EXERCISES AND ALL THIS SORT OF THING, I THINK."

Q:- "WHAT ABOUT THE LADS HERE AT THE SETTLEMENT, DO THEY HELP?"

A:- "OH, YES. I'M A "DROPPER-INTO" OUR CLUB, SO I DON'T RUN CLUBS. BUT I DO DROP IN AND WE HAVE A BIT OF CRICKET AND OTHER THINGS TOGETHER, AS WELL, AND THAT DOES HELP."

Q:- "NOW WERE THE CAPTAINCY - WHICH IS GOING TO BE PRETTY WIDE OPEN NEXT YEAR IN AUSTRALIA - WERE IT OFFERED TO YOU, DO YOU THINK YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO SHOULDER THAT BURDEN?"

A:- "I WOULD HOPE SO. I'VE CAPTAINED SIDES A BIT IN THE PAST, AND I'VE ENJOYED IT. I'D BE TERRIBLY HAPPY, INDEED, TO GO ON THE TOUR IF I WAS ASKED TO IN ANY CAPACITY IN THE SIDE."
