    The recently-inaugurated Institute of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine in Peshawar, Pakistan, is now providing modern techniques in the treatment of cancer and goitre patients in the mountainous areas of Pakistan.

    For the first time, the use of nuclear radiation and isotopes has reached patients suffering from malignant diseases in the North West Frontier and the Karakoram range areas.

    The Institute is said to be the best-equipped in Pakistan. In addition to actually treating patients, it also does research work to discover preventive measures in respect of diseases peculiar to the North West Frontier Province.

    It is manned entirely by Pakistani medical personnel. Several Middle East countries have expressed a desire to send some of their doctors to the Institute for training in this field.

    The Institute is on four acres of land on the campus of Peshawar University.
