FAHMY: "I think that things are moving, and I hope in the right direction. The culmination of my visit and contacts here really is proved one major thing which is very important that President Carter and American Administration and Secretary Vance, they are very keen and determined to push the process of peace and stay in ti. This is the major involvement so far as the United States is concerned. The second major event is this joint American-Soviet statement. The third important event is that there is some formula around which the parties are going on and discussing it with the Americans to find an acceptable ground to go to Geneva and convene Geneva."

REPORTER: "Have you seen any proposals that were worked out with the Secretary Vance and Dr. Dyan, the Israeli Foreign Minister?"

FAHMY: "To my knowledge there is no new formula. The only formula which was given to all the parties since we arrived here. There may be some changes made, from the Arab side of the Israeli side, but to my knowledge there is no formula. Nobody gave me any formula yesterday."

REPORTER: "There are the formula in other words that everyone has been working on, based on the United Nations resolutions as well that go back...."

FAHMY: "No the formula deals only with the procedural aspects, you know, about one Arab delegation and the sub-committees and when to meet in Geneva."

REPORTER: "Well, you obviously feel there is a breakthrough?"

FAHMY: "I hope so, I hope so."
