  • Description

Leads United, First Division leaders and Britain's most successful club in European soccer over the last five years, were knocked out of the F.A. Cup today (Saturday) in the most sensational cup result since the war. Colchester Untied, a lowly Fourth Division club, scored two goals in the first 24 minutes and never even looked like letting their lead slip away. The Fourth Division club playing at home in front of a maximum crowd of 16,000 swept confidently up and down the field, and won 3-2. Never was there a better demonstration of the maxim that in Cup football there are no favourites.
