    OFFICERS OF INDONESIA'S CRUSH MALAYSIA CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION, KOGAM; ARRIVED IN
    KUALA LUMPUR ON FRIDAY ON A GOOD-WILL MISSION TO MALAYSIA. THE MALAYSIAN
    GOVERNMENT HAS WELCOMED THE VISIT, BUT THE MISSION HAD NOT BEEN EXPECTED BY MOST
    PEOPLE AND ITS C-130 HERCULES TRANSPORT PLANE RISKED BEING SHOT DOWN BY
    MALAYSIAN ARTILLERY.

    THE INDONESIAN MISSION IS THE FIRST OF ITS KIND TO VISIT MALAYSIA SINCE
    INDONESIA STARTED CONFRONTATION IN 1963. IT WAS LED BY REAR ADMIRAL 0.B. SJAFF
    (PRONOUNCED SHA-AF)), AND ALSO INCLUDED BRIGADIER GENERAL KEMAL IDRIS, AIR
    COMMODORE SOESANTO, COLONEL TJOKROPRANOLO COLONEL YOGA SOEGOMO, LIEUTENANT
    COLONEL ALI MOERTOPO, SECOND LIEUTENANT HERLINA SERJOKOESOE (THE ONLY WOMAN IN
    THE GROUP), AND MR. B. TRISULO, WHO WAS SECRETARY TO THE GROUP.

    ON HAND AT THE AIRPORT TO GREET THE PARTY WAS A GROUP OF MALAYSIAN OFFICIALS LED
    BY TAN SRI MOHAMMED GHAZALI BIN SHAFFIE, THE PERMANENT SECRETARY TO MALAYSIA'S
    MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS. THE INDONESIANS THEN CALLED ON THE DEPUTY PRIME
    MINISTER, TUN ABDUL RAZAK, AND HAD BREAKFAST WITH HIM, ALSO MEETING SEVERAL
    MALAYSIAN CABINET MINISTERS AND SENIOR OFFICIALS. TUN RAZAK DESCRIBED THE
    MISSION AS CLEAR EVIDENCE OF INDONESIA'S SINCERITY ABOUT ENDING CONFRONTATION.

    IN THE AFTERNOON, THE INDONESIAN MISSION FLEW TO ALOR STAR, KIN NORTH-WEST
    MALAYA, TO PAY A COURTESY CALL ON TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN, THE MALAYSIAN PRIME
    MINISTER, WHO IS HOLIDAYING THERE. AFTER HALF AN HOUR OF TALKS, THE VISITORS
    EXCHANGED GIFTS WITH THE TUNKU. THE INDONESIANS PRESENTED SOME BOOKS TO THE
    TUNKU, WHO IN TURN GAVE THEM WRIST WATCHES. THE TUNKU ALSO PRAISED THE VISIT AS
    A DEMONSTRATION OF INDONESIA'S SINCERITY IN WANTING TO END CONFRONTATION.

    THE INDONESIANS ALSO PASSED ON TO THE TUNKU A GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM THE
    INDONESIAN ARMY "STRONGMAN", GENERAL SUHARTO.
