    A CROWD OF 5,000 AFRICANS GAVE AN UNEXPECTEDLY WARM WELCOME IN ELISABETHVILLE TO PRIME MINISTER ADOULA OF THE CONGOLESE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT. HE'S BEEN THERE THIS WEEK TO HAVE A ROUND OF TALKS WITH KATANGESE AND UN OFFICIALS AND HIS VISIT IS SEEN AS MARKING KATANGA'S ENTRY INTO THE CONGO.

    UP TILL NOW THE GREETING HAVE BEEN FOR MR. TSHOMBE, THE KATANGESE PRESIDENT, WHO'S LEFT THE COUNTRY FOR EYE TREATMENT. MR. ADOULA IS THE FIRST PRIME MINISTER FROM LEOPOLDVILLE TO SET FOOT IN KATANGA SINCE INDEPENDENCE. DURING HIS VISIT HE TOURED THE BALUBA REFUGEE CAMP WHERE HUNDREDS OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE LIVING IN HOVELS. HE RETURNED TO LEOPOLDVILLE YESTERDAY (FRIDAY) AND WILL LEAVE FOR BRUSSELS ON MONDAY FOR TALKS ABOUT GETTING BELGIAN HELP BACK TO THE CONGO.
