    The 17th Annual Assembly of the Atlantic Treaty Association held a four-day conference in London this week. British Prime Minister Edward Heath, who opened the conference, predicated that the enlargement of the European Economics Community would strengthen the NATO alliance. The Atlantic Treaty Association, holding its first meeting in London, is dedicated to promoting the interests of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO)
    For its part, the Royal Air Force put on a static display near London. The display was designed to show aircraft and equipment in service or shortly coming into service.

    SYNOPSIS: The Seventeenth Annual Assembly of the Atlantic Treaty Association held a four-day conference in London this past week. As part of the conference, NATO military officials were conducted on a tour of a special Royal Air Force display at Abingdon, near London.

    There were four particular themes chosen for representation at the R-A-F static display, which was designed to shows aircraft and equipment in services or shortly coming into service. The four themes include Support of the flanks of the Allied Command Europe, aircraft support of the land battle, the Central Region Battle and Maritime aspects. The displays include a wide range of operational aircraft, including the Phanthom, Harrier and Nimrod. In addition several ground to air missiles were open to view.

    The Atlantic Treaty Association is dedicated to promoting the interests of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, NATO. Addressing the conference, British Prime Minister Edward Heath predicted that the enlargement of the European Economic Community would strengthen the NATO alliance.
