Background: On March 13th, V.G. Wilcox, General Secretary of the Communist Party of New Zealand, arrived in Peking by plane. He was met at the airport by Teng Hsiao-ping, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee; Peng Chen, member of the Central Committee Political Bureau; Kang Sheng, alternate member of the Political Bureau and more than two thousand of Peking's working people.
Also present were the Chairman of the New Zealand Communist Party, Williams and his wife.
V. G. Wilcox is paying a friendship visit to China at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
