  • Description

England wan the toss and elected to bat on the opening day of the second test between England and Australia being played at Lords Cricket Ground in London.

Here of the day was the Australian bowler, Bab Massie, playing in his first test match against England. He took five wickets during the first day's play and helped Australia held England to a score of 249 for seven at stumps.

The best batting display of the day came from Tony Greig--when scored fifty-four. It was his third half-century of the series: he was England's top scorer in both the first and second innings of the First Test.
