Background: The results from today's by-elections should start coming in any time now, with Nuneaton first on the list. In all, fourteen candidates are fighting for the three seats at stake -- Glasgow Pollok, Nuneaton and Rhondda West -- all Labour-held. Of these Pollok is the real marginal. And to find out how the count's going a report from Dennis Mitchell in Glasgow.
Voters still have an hour to go before polling ends in today's three by elections at Glasgow Pollok, Nuneaton and Rhondda West, all three seats held by Labour.
At Pollok voting in the cold, wet weather started slowly. But by early evening the number of voters was growing noticeably. And at Rhondda West there's a good chance that the vote may equal the percentage at the General Election. The estimate is seventy-five to eighty percent. But a Nuneaton polling this evening was still rather slow.
