    PRESIDENT HOUPHOUET BOIGNY OF IVORY COAST, ON WEDNESDAY (16 MARCH) WARNED PRESIDENT SEKOU TOURE OF NEIGHBOURING GUINEA AGAINST EMBARKING ON THE "FATAL ADVENTURE" OF SENDING MILITARY FORCES THROUGH IVORY COAST TO ATTACK GHANA'S NEW GOVERNMENT.

    YESTERDAY (THURSDAY), THE PRESIDENT ANNOUNCED THAT HE HAD ORDERED IVORY COAST TROOPS TO MOVE UP TO THE FRONTIER WITH GUINEA TO "AWAIT THE ARRIVAL OF GUINEA SOLDIERS WHO MAY BE MARCHING TO ATTACK GHANA."
    THE IVORY COAST BORDERS BOTHER GUINEA AND GHANA AND PRESIDENT SEKOU TOURE HAS ANNOUNCED THAT HE PLANS TO SEND ARMED FORCES AS WELL AS GUINEAN VOLUNTEERS TO GHANA TO HELP REINSTATE DR KWAME NKRUMAH WHO WAS DEPOSED IN A MILITARY COUP ON 24 FEBRUARY. DR NKRUMAH WENT TO GUINEA AFTER THE COUP. THE SHORTEST ROUTE FROM GUINEA TO GHANA IS ACROSS IVORY COAST TERRITORY.

    PRESIDENT HOUPHOUET BOIGNY SAID THAT THE PRESIDENT OF GUINEA AND THE GUINEAN PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW THAT THE PEOPLE OF THE IVORY COAST ARE PASSIONATE LOVERS OF PEACE. BUT THEY WOULD NOT BE PREPARED TO ACCEPT DISHONOUR. "OUR DIGNITY DEMANDS THAT WE SHOULD OPPOSE BY ALL MEANS THE CROSSING OF OUR COUNTRY BY THE GUINEAN HORDES," HE SAID.
