Background: In London, dozens of British jews assembled outside the Soviet Embassy on Christmas Day (Friday 25th December) and demonstrated against the sentences in the Leningrad hi-jacking trial.

Of the II who were on trial, nine were Jews, Two of the accused received death sentences, and the remainder are to be sent to labour camps.

The demonstrators gathered near the entrance to the private road in Kensington which leads up to the Soviet Embassy, to make known their feelings by singing protest songs and waving slogans. One demonstrator changed the tone of the protest gathering with the help of the biblical ram's horn.
