Mr. Diefenbaker, the Canadian Premier, arrived in Paris on November 5, after a six-day visit to Britain. Immediately he called on his French counterpart, General De Gaulle, at the Hotel Matignon. During their discussions members of the French Foreign Ministry were called into the conference room.
Among the subjects that came up for discussion were the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the attitude of Commonwealth countries to the European Common Market.
Mr. Diefenbaker later flew to the Royal Canadian Air Force base at Grostenquin, France. He will go on to Bonn afterwards. From Europe he is scheduled to visit Far East Commonwealth countries.
