    Indonesian President Soekarno was greeted by President Gamal Abdel Nasser when he stepped from his 'plane at Al Maza Airport, Cairo, today, on his visit to Egypt. He inspected the customary guard of honour and shook hands with members of the Government and other high dignitaries.

    Dr. Soekarno is reported to have asked President Nasser to "vigorously support" his country's claim to West Irian (West New Guinea).

    Informed sources also state that the two Afro-Asian leaders - both advocates of "positive neutralism" - also discussed the possibility of an Egyptian-Indonesian arms deal.

    The Indonesian President is staying in the Kubba Palace during his five-day visit to Egypt, the second stop in his five-nation tour through Asia and the Middle East to win Afro - Asian support for Indonesia's claim to Dutch - administered West Irian.
