Ahmad Alamo, a senior houseman at the hospital who was training as an eye specialist, arrived at the courthouse accompanied by police. He appeared before the magistrates for only three minutes.     Background: The Jordanian doctor charged in Blackpool, England, with the killing of one of three children found stabbed to death in a hospital there, has been identified as 32-year-old Ahmad Alami--son of Shalkh saad al-din Alami, the Mufti of Jerusalem.

    Ahmad Alami, a senior houseman at the Victoria Hospital where the killings took place, was charged in a brief appearance before magistrates on Friday (February 18), and remanded in custody for a week. Police took him to court with a blanket over his head.
