The Pakistan Ambassador to the United Nations, Mr. Agha shahi, interrupted the Indian Foreign Minister, Mr. Sardar Swaran Singh, in the debate,on the Pakistan situation at the United Nations on Monday (27 September).
In his speech, the Indian Foreign Minister spoke on the burden placed upon his country by the millions of East Pakistani refugees who have flooded into India since the civil war began last March. He spoke of the need to return these people to their homes, and referred to the actions of the Pakistan Government which are preventing normal life in East Pakistan,
The Pakistan Ambassador rose and called for a point of order, denouncing India for interference in Pakistan's internal affairs. He asked for a ruling from the president as to whether the foreign Minister was in order in going into the affairs at length.
