    With the nation wide printing stoppage remaining unsolved an unofficial strike hogan at the Morris Motors factory at Cowley, Oxfordshire, July 16th, over the dismissal of the chief shop steward Mr. Frank Horseman.

    The Company say Mr. Horseman committed a breach of discipline in Calling two men to stop work in an overtime dispute.

    After a mass meeting strikers, who are demanding the reinstatement of the Chief shop steward and an enquiry into all the circumstances, stood outside the gates of the factory appealing to those still at work to join them.

    The strike spread on the 17th. and production is now dislocated in a number of works. The unions claim that 2,500 men are out but the management put the number at nearer a thousand.

    Two other factories affected by the stoppage are the M.G. and Riley Works at Abingdon and the Pressed Steel Factory at Cowley.
