  • Description

Both in France and Algeria, terrorists - said to be members of the FLN, and right-wing extremists - have continued an intimidation campaign of bomb outrages and shootings.

In Algeria April 6, a plastic bomb exploded outside the United States consulate blowing out the doors of the third-floor offices where the consulate is situated, and smashing windows in nearby flats. No casualties were reported.

Another bomb exploded later outside the American Information Services offices in the centre of Algiers. Again nobody was hurt and damage was slight.

The bomb attacks - attributed to French terrorists - came three days after a meeting between Mr Walmsby, United States Ambassador in Tunis, with Algerian rebel "Ministers".
