The Iraqi version of the April eleventh action, claims that Iranian troops had ambushed an Iraqi police vehicle while it was returning to Khannakin, injuring a policeman and setting the vehicle on fire.

The conflicting versions continued the next two days. Iraq said that Iran had opened up on their police with mortars and Artillery.........Iranian sources said that Iraqis had reattacked along several points of the border - such as Tapah Gol, Darazad, Amineh and Heyderabad- and had been repulsed. To support their claims, the iranians showed mortar fragments and unexploded had grenades which, they said, has come form across the border. An Iranian source says: "Iran has so far shown extraordinary restraint and has confined itself to defending its territories".
