VISNEWS--June 6th- in the Isle of Man filmed World Champion Motor cyclist 24 years old John Surtees (No.4) who gained a brilliant victory in the Senior T.T.Hace on his red four-cylinder M.V.Agusta, covering the 164.13 mile course in 3 hours 13.4 secs an average speed of 87.94 miles perm hour.

From a standing start he broke the first lap record of 101.18 M.P.H.

This victory means that for the second year in succession, Surtees, the boy from Catford, London, achieved a "double", winning both the Junior and Senior events, a feat only done once before, by the world-famous Stanley Woods, 25 years ago.

The race, postponed form the previous day because of bad weather was number the worst conditions since 1954, in rain, hail and high wind and consequently was the slowest since the war.

The 31 years old Glasgow rider Alistair King (No.8) on a Norton was second, 5 minutes behind Surtees, at an average speed of 85.50 m.p.h. whilst third place was secured by Bob Brown (No.3) of Australia also on a Norton, whose average was 83. m.p.h.
