SYNOPSIS: Prime Minister Mohammed was visiting Peking with a delegation of ministers at the invitation of the Chinese government.
Several thousand people from the capital turned out to greet the party at the airport as their aircraft landed. Among the Chinese leaders present were Chairman Hua Kuo-feng and the vice-premier, Li Hsien-nien. Later in the evening, a banquet was held in honour of the Yemeni visitors. Vice-premier Li, in a speech, urged the Arab world to unite to ensure victory in their Middle East struggle. In Unity they would be stronger than any modern weapons, he said. Mr. Li also criticised the Soviet Union and the United States, saying their rivalry in the Middle East was the Source of incessant turmoil. He saw the Israeli invasion of the South Lebanon was proof of this rivalry.
The Yemeni delegation included the Ministers of Health, Trade and Supply and construction. At the airport, they were accorded a lavish welcome.
During later talks, the leaders discussed economic and industrial growth in the South Yemen. China has provided extensive economic aid for the development of the former British colony.
