    A Chinese Liberation Army delegation met with Pakistan's National Security Chief General Tikka Khan in Rawalpindi on Tuesday (17 February) to start their 12-day goodwill visit to the country.

    The nine member delegation is headed by Cheng Shan-Sheng - the Deputy-Commander of the Sinkiang Military Council.

    Cheng Shan-Sheng is a veteran who joined the People's Army in 1931, took part in the Long March and has held various command and staff appointments.

    He is also a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

    The delegation's discussions with General Khan represented their first official task. General Khan assumed his post just this month and is a special assistant to Pakistan' Prime Minister Bhutto,
    The Talks centred around recent changes in Pakistan's Defence policies and the changing policies of defence in countries throughout the world.
