    24 people died in a plane crash near the Lebanese village of Aramoun, a short way from Beirut, Nov.22. Three passengers survived the crash - one an American, Mr.George H. Clark, and two Afghans - all were seriously injured.

    The plane was of the Ariana (Afghan) Airline bound for Kabul, just before it plunged to the earth it was seen to be on fire.

    Most of the passengers were Turks, Czechoslovaks and Afghans. The plane crashed three minutes out from Beirut after landing there. It was at Beirut that the American passenger boarded the aircraft.

    Fire tenders and ambulances raced from the city to the crash area. Dozens of rescue workers cleared the wreckage searching for survivors ... and bodies.

    The passenger list was taken from Beirut airport by the Public Prosecutor who is making inquiries into the cause of the crash.
