    Vice President Ky of South Vietnam arrived in New York on Sunday for a 17-day visit that will include a tour of United States military bases and a meeting with President Nixon.

    The Vice President flew in from Paris where he had been attending the peace talks.

    Elaborate security precautions were made for the Vice President's trip and some reports described the security guard as the heaviest provided since the Soviet Prime Minister, Mr Khrushchev, visited the United States.

    Vice President Ky planned to visit the United States just before the mid-term elections, but put the visit back, when several American politicians, including Vice President Agnew, spoke out against it.

    SYNOPSIS: Demonstrators were on hand when Vice President Ky of South Vietnam arrived in New York on Sunday. But there were elaborate security precautions at the airport -- some reports described them as the heaviest since the Soviet Prime Minister, Mr khrushchev, visited the United States. Vice President Ky will be in the United States for 17 days and will meet President Nixon.
